Weekend Revival at the West End Church

Atlanta, GA

One the most progressive and productive congregations amongst the churches of Christ  in the City of Atlanta is the West End church of Christ.   I feel blessed to have received the opportunity to go there after being extended the invitation by the minister of that church and one of my best friends, Orpheus Heyward.   I was invited to be a part of their “harvest week”.   They’re sacrificing and sowing in an effort to build a bigger edifice.   One of the activities and tasks of that weekend was the Saturday recording of their television talk show in front of their live congregational audience.  Brother Heyward and I talked about issues ranging from what the word has to say about homosexuality, immorality, dating, marriage and biblical relevancy.  I must say, having facilitated a television program at Mountain View before, it was quite refreshing to be a part of their television broadcast.   They are certainly doing a great work and making an impact in that city.  

The worship experience at the West End church was a jubilant experience.   The affinity that brother Heyward has for hearing the word preached was evident in the attitude of the West End church.  It was also a pleasant surprise to see so many people who I hadn’t seen since my childhood years who moved from Brooklyn to Atlanta.   If you’re ever in Georgia and in particular in Atlanta, you’d be doing yourself a spiritual favor to visit the West End Church of Christ.    Be blessed
